A Little Boots and Paperchase Stationary Haul

I have been on an absolute spending spree the past couple of weeks. I hope that this has come to an end now as I think I have outspent myself and satisfied those retail urges. There have been so many boosted student discounts around that completely reeled me in! H&M, Topshop, River Island… EVERYWHERE HAS CHARMED ME TO PART WITH MY MONEY. But I shouldn’t complain. I’ve bought some lovely bits! Enough ‘what I bought’ posts for over a week I reckon hahah. Oh deary me.
I’ll begin with a more boring haul. Well, not boring, but fairly standard.
I already use a couple of Yes To skincare products that I’ve been impressed with, so when I saw these on offer in Boots (1/3 off the full price) I knew I wanted to try some of their haircare! The brand uses 95%+ natural ingredients and are cruelty free, what’s not to like! I find the packaging cute too. I’ve been experiencing a bit of an itchy scalp so the Yes To Carrots Dry Scalp Shampoo and Conditioner were perfect. I also got a Yes To Coconut Conditioner to soothe my dry/damaged hair. I’ve used all three already and am very happy with all of them.
I adore the original Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix Facial Pads, so I saw these new Glycolic Fix Extreme Night Pads with 1/3 off in Boots too and thought I’d give them a try once my Liquid Gold runs out. However they have a lot to live up to if they’re anywhere near as good as that!
Finally I swiped another Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer as it’s so rare to find them in stock you have to grab them while you can!
In Paperchase I grabbed this cute, nautically striped pad of sticky notes as I’m forever needing to jot things down or make lists, and this is handy just to keep by my bed for those fleeting thoughts you need to note down.
I also picked up these adorable mini highlighters that have cats on! I just think they’re so cute and fun to use, as well as having the practical purpose of helping you in lectures and note-taking 😉 They also have a set with owls instead, equally as sweet, and even bear ones! It’s just too much stationary cuteness.
As I’ve said, I’ve bought rather a lot recently, so I’ll be back with some other clothing and beauty hauls soon. Do you prefer seeing clothes hauls with just pictures of the items, or with the items on? It’s certainly easier to photograph them hanging, but I think I personally prefer seeing clothes on… Let me know what you think.

Primark Haul

I went into my nearest Primark in the hope of finding two specific items. Naturally, you cannot leave Primark with only what you went in for. There are such treasures to be found.

The said specific items were these. Bambi make up bags. The small one was £3, and the larger one £4. I didn’t need both, but I had to have them both regardless.
I’m very happy with the things I got. I’m newly getting into maxi dresses/skirts, I thought I was probably too short for them but the striped one is a good length for me, and has two side slits which I love.  And the suede effect skirt is very on trend and looks quite sophisticated and grown up because of the fitted, pencil skirt style
Sorry that this is a bit lazy, I would have liked to have shown all the pieces on but it’s such a task when you’re taking the pictures yourself and the lighting in my room is awful on these grey, rainy days! Cannot believe this is supposed to be July, the weather has been crap. I hope August is better.
Best wishes,

Primark, Boots, Superdrug Holiday Inspired Haul

I know, I’m out of control. I buy something every weekend yes, but most of this was stuff I obviously desperately needed for holiday.

I bought a few mini toiletry bits that I may or may not take with me. They’re only £1 each so not breaking the bank! I’m traveling cabin bag only so I’m going to have to be so selective. I got the little pots so I could decant any of my favourite creams in them if I want to.
The makeup sponge was £1.50, haven’t used it yet but I wanted to see if a sponge applies any nicer than fingers or a brush! The makeup bag was £4, it has a hanger and two plastic compartments so great for putting everything in one place. It’ll be much easier to control how much makeup/skincare/haircare I take if I restrict myself to just filling this! I have the liquid restriction to stick to as well, don’t know how I’ll manage lol.
White laser-cut detail top was £5 and well, it’s a white top, you can’t go far wrong. The white dress was £13… I’m still a bit on the fence with it. It’s quite floaty and girly and princessy, which I thought I liked… But I’m not so sure. I’ll probably keep it mainly as I can’t be arsed to take it back. It looks fine, just not my perfect white summer dress.
I am however in LOVE with the sandals. I just think they’re lovely, a nice nod to the snakeskin lovin’ that seems to be around at the moment, and very comfortable actually. And only £4, amazing. They had them in tan brown also.
I stopped by Boots for some makeup bits. I wanted a long lasting foundation in a tube to withstand some heat and be travel friendly. I used Max Factor Lasting Performance Foundation years ago, and I remember it being really good. I can’t remember why I stopped using it, but I picked it up as a reliable choice instead of trying something new.
Two new products I picked up though are from Seventeen. My Collection Lasting Perfection concealer is running low, but as usual I couldn’t find it anywhere in stock in Fair, so I went for this Seventeen Stay Time offering. I also don’t own a pressed powder, as I use loose, but again for the practicality of traveling I thought I’d buy a cheapish one and hope for the best. I picked up the Seventeen Miracle Matte Pressed Powder in Natural Fair and the fact it has a mirror gave extra travel points!
The Clean and Clear Dual Action Moisturiser is something I used for YEARS when I was a bit younger. It was amazing, I literally noticed how when I would stop using it I would get more spots. I think I abandoned it when I had more money to spend in the view that more expensive meant better. It also is probably not hydrating enough for my skin, however in my time of need and skin in a crappy period, I am hoping this teenage savior can become my 20’s savior!
Lastly, these sunglasses were a nice surprise! I never think of Boots for sunglasses, but I had a browse and I loved these! I’d been toying with some from River Island but these ones are much nicer so I’m glad I refrained. Unfortunately I can’t find a link to them on their website, but they were own brand and £15.

Just some basic things from Superdrug. I bought some plastic 100ml bottles for traveling, and I saw the toothbrush holder and thought ah, that’s a good idea! I will attempt to wax my legs before I go, but every time I’ve tried before it’s been a massive fail. We’ll see. I bought some coconut oil as everyone’s raving about it, I don’t quite know what I’ll do with it, but I’ll give it a try.
If once I’ve starting using things anything is outstanding, I’m sure I’ll give an update! I’ve been collating a bag of empties as I seem to be finishing lots of things at the moment, so I might do a post on them soon 🙂
All the best,

H&M, Primark, New Look, Zara Haul Goodies

A pretty standard thing for me to do on a day off when I have no plans is to go shopping, of course! Days off are expensive… BUT once again, I am convincing myself that it was all justified and that I picked up some good stuff that’ll get lots of wear!

Let’s start with Primark.

I tend to avoid Primark shoes as I have a perception of them not being the most comfortable or most well made, but I do like to have a look at what they have in there. I saw these two beauties, tried them on and just couldn’t leave them behind. They both fit me really well actually and weren’t uncomfortable! They’re such nice designs and so cheap that is doesn’t really matter if they don’t last years. The lace ups are very very similar to the lovely Office multi straps. I’ve seen the New Look take on them kicking about the internet, and tried them on in store and as with all New Look shoes, I found them horribly uncomfortable, New Look shoes just do not fit me – 5’s are a bit too small, 6’s too big! And besides I really dislike the gold detailing they decided to put on them. Primark wins!

Lovely little bag, it’s a good size, fits my tablet in there too! A cream and black bag like this will just go with everything. Primark’s bags impress me a lot.

Exciting purchase here! And that’s genuine. I love these! I do get a bit excited about being able to organise and store things in pretty ways. Storage is fun. Primark are the cheapest place I’ve found to buy non-slip hangers like this, I can’t remember the exact price but they were under £3 on sale for 10 of them. Bargain.

Onto H&M, they have some great stuff in!

I’ve had my eye on these for a while, so finally bought them. I really wanted some block heels as they really are so much more comfortable and still look great. Comfort is much more of a priority for me these days! No more silly stilettos. I love these, try them on and you’ll see why. Legs look great AND you can walk in them AND wear them longer than a hour?! Miracle.

I LOVE these shorts, they are so cute! This picture nor the website do them justice, they are so lovely on and are so soft. When the weather warms up hopefully I can include them in an outfit post as they look so great on. I could only find them in the store in a size smaller than I would normally get, but they fit perfectly, so that’s always a great feeling! 😉 And only £7.99, I couldn’t believe it. They go so nicely with all the tops I got too.

This top is part of the H&M conscious range which uses some recycled materials which is pretty cool. As you can probably tell, it’s the kind of top you’ll have to iron a lot as it’s crease prone, but I just really like the colour and fit, it’s something you can tuck into things as well as over the top of jeans etc. So chic.

This is so nice, it’s long at the back and is just a lovely fit; flowy but flattering. I’ve been wearing it over the top of a long sleeve white top while it’s still a bit chilly. I love it. I’m sensing a nude, beige theme going on with me here!

Onto New Look

I was so happy with New Look for this one! I’d seen basically the same top in Topshop (River Island had one too, here), and had half decided I was going to buy it, but I thought I’d check New Look first in the hope they had one similar, and they did! And with their cheaper prices I saved over a tenner, very glad I bothered to look for it.

Lastly, a perfume from Zara

I think Zara’s perfume range is great, some lovely ones there and they’re so affordable. To be truthful, I’m kind of wishing I’d got a different one to this Oriental one, I like it but just not love… I was trying to be grown up and get something not so sweet as usual, but they’re what I like so I wish I’d just stayed true to that and got the Green Apple one I truly wanted! Ah well, they’re £9.99, so I haven’t broken the bank, it will get used up.

Happy Easter,
